Who Can Access This Service?

To qualify for free tax assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Valid SIN or ITN (Individual Tax Number).

Annual gross income does not exceed: 35,000 CAD for an individual, 45,000 CAD for a couple or a family with a single parent. Additional 2,500 CAD for each extra family member or dependent.

Investment income (interest & dividends) must be less than 1,000 CAD per family.No income from: Rental property, Business or corporate sources, Trust structures

No capital gains or losses.No overseas assets or foreign income, except foreign pension.Not applicable for individuals filing on behalf of a deceased person or those declared bankrupt.

What Documents Do You Need?

To ensure a smooth tax filing process, please bring the following documents for all adult family members:

📌 Personal Information:

  • Proof of identity and immigration status, Social Insurance Number (SIN), Current address.
  • 📌 Proof of Income:
    • - T4 – If you worked officially
  • - T5007 – If you received social benefits (Ontario Works, Emergency benefits, Ontario Disability Assistance)
  • - T4A(P) & T4A(OAS) – If you received a pension
  • - T4E – If you received Employment Insurance
  • - T5 – If you had investment income
  • - T2202 – If you paid tuition fees for college or university

    📌 Proof of Expenses:

      - Childcare payments
  • - Apartment rent and landlord information
  • - Medication payments (only if they exceed 3% of total income or $2,759, whichever is lower)
  • - Transportation costs (only for seniors)
  • 📌 Additional Requirements:

  • - Information about children
  • - Bank account details (for direct deposit, if banking details have changed since the last tax return)

    All tax returns are filed electronically (E-Filing only) for faster processing and secure submission.

    ⚠️ We DO NOT file tax returns in the following cases: ❌ Self-employment income ❌ Rental or business income ❌ Capital gains/losses ❌ Filing on behalf of a deceased person ❌ Declared bankruptcy in 2024
