English Language Training
We offer free LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) classes as well as free Care for Newcomer Children (CNC).
English Language Training
Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC) classes are designed to help you improve your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Our program will introduce you to Canadian life, including culture, history, job search, social life, health, and the economy. You will gain practical knowledge and skills to better prepare for work, integrate into your community, and meet the language requirements for Canadian citizenship.
Our settlement workshops provide access to important information to help you integrate faster into life in Canada and address your specific questions. Additionally, our experienced settlement counsellors, located in the same office, are available to assist with your individual settlement needs.

We support parents by offering a Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) program for children aged 2 to 5 years old while you are in class. The program is led by experienced and certified Early Childhood Educators (ECEs).

Before joining LINC classes, eligible learners must take a language assessment at a YMCA Assessment Centre. We can help you schedule an appointment for your language test. The assessment will evaluate your skills based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This will ensure you are placed in the right class level.
