Canada Child Benefits (CCB)

The CCB assists eligible families with the costs of raising children. It is a monthly, non-taxable payment administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You must apply for the CCB. To be eligible, you must be a resident of Canada. A ‘resident’ under CRA’s definition is different than ‘resident’ under Canada’s immigration laws.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

As of July 1, 2016, the CCB replaces the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB), the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS) and the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB).

How Much Will I Receive?
  • The amount you receive is based on the number of qualified children you have and their ages; your family income for the previous tax year. You can use the
Child and Family Benefits Calculator online to get an estimate of the amount you may qualify for. This will also calculate whether you are eligible for the Ontario Child Benefit and/or the Child Disability Benefit.

  • If you are applying for the first time, you may need to provide proof of immigration status in Canada and proof of birth for children who are born outside of Canada. More information about how to apply and what documents to provide can be found here. Send photocopies, not originals.

Please contact CUIAS and we will gladly assist you with the CCB application and any questions you may have..
