CUIAS Immigrant Services provides a wide range of free settlement and adaptation services funded by the federal department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (Integration Program) and the Ontario’s Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade (NSP Program). These programs assist newcomers in settling in Canada successfully.

Our Services

   

  • Restoration of lost or stolen documents (such as PR cards and landed documents)
  • Help dealing with Canada Revenue Agency matters (interpretation, writing letters)
  • Employment – assistance with résumé and job interview preparation, career planning and job search support, as well as referrals to employment resources in the community.
  • Free Income Tax clinic for low income individuals and families – provided by our CVITP trained volunteers
  • Counselling – providing support to people experiencing problems adjusting to a new life, such as landlord/tenant issues, unpaid wages, family issues or abuse. If necessary, we will connect you with specialized services, such as health, family counselling, legal, seniors, youth services and others.
  • Interpretation and translation services – interpretation and document translations available in the following languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish and Romanian.
  • Group Information Sessions – providing regular ’Welcome to Canada’ information sessions on a variety of topics such as your rights and responsibilities as a new Permanent Resident, government services and benefits, housing information, Canada’s income tax system, legal services, recreation programs for children and seniors, among others topics.
